Default Hotchkis 17x8 35mm rub issues?

I'm looking to pick up a set of 5zigen fn01r-c's from edgeracing. I was wondering if 17x8 35mm offset with 215/45/17's will rub on a hotchkis drop? I know questions like these get asked every 4 seconds but I searched and could not find any definitive answer.

Yeah, you should be good. That's almost (if not exactly) stock size and stock is good on the hotchkis springs.

I was wondering this myself, and IIRC the stock size is 17x7 35MM

either way good to know I can get the wheels I want and not rub with my hotchkis springs!

why get 8" rims if you are going to use 215's?

go with a 225 or a 235 so you can use the extra width.

but no, you shouldnt rub to answer the original question.

^^ Yeah, I was going to suggest that to. If you are going to get 8's then you should def go with a wider tire. 225's would be good.

I happily ran 245s on a 17x8 with 48 offset. 245/40/17 is a perfect size for the tC, too.

And when will the people realize that drop has nothing to do with rubbing. Offset and wheel/tire width are the only factors.

Now that this is taken care of. 17x8 with 35 offset is pushing it, even with 215s. It will be pretty close in the back, but might work out. Front - under full compression in a turn you can slice the tire. And you don't want this to happen with a fully compressed strut and wheel turned all the way.

http://blacktc.com/2years/2y08.jpg - that's what it looked like with 5mm spacers in the back, nothing on the front.

your right when you say wheel size and offset play the only factor when considering if you are going to rub or not, but lowering your car increases the chances.

17x8 +35 works just fine with 225/45/17, even when cornering aggressively.

Even if lowered 2" by the Hotchkis springs? If so, sweet!

235/45 is the wrong sidewall, you need 235/40

a 245 can fit a 8" wheel, but i think it would be better put on a 8.5"

how does lowering your car not factor into rubbing? i don't think he said rubbing on the fender lip..i believe you can still rub on the inner fender well with the wrong size tire and too much of a drop..
