I've got around 25,000 on mine so far and not much tread left. Shouldn't they last at least until 40,000 miles? hmmmm Driving style is pretty moderate.

I'm thinking about the NITTO GEN tire also as a replacement since the NITTO site shows them as the quietest. But I'm not sure if it could handle snow and ice.

Any opinions/comments out there??

i got about 22,000 miles on it. i still have about 40% left on it. my tires have been rotated every 5,000 miles. i also been driving it hard every now and then. just keep up with your tire totation you'll be good....

 

mine lasted until like 30,000. i had the Yokohama something. but yeah the tread rating on the stock tires arent that high so you might want to start thinking about buying new ones. Also i know that theres usually a small hump in between the tread, if your tread is level with that hump, then its time to change the tires even though it seems like theres still some tread left.

 

right on thanks. I just checked them now and the tread is pretty much gone. Yea, I rotated them every 5k. Still though, the ride isn't that bad considering, but I am no longer getting a good grip.

As far as the NITTO tires . . not the GEN but the INVO. Any comments on those? Winter weather tire, or strictly summer rubber?? hmmmmm

I'm at about 25K on mine and I will probably be replacing them at the middle/end of next summer.

 

I'm at 23,000 and there's still A LOT left. Rotate every oil change (~5k) and don't drive very aggressively. Alignment within specs.

 

Till they go bald.

 

23000 Yokohama..tires....almost bald...need new ties..and since ive had the car, ive rotated them once...i didnt ge the car new either...

 

I was obsessed with burnouts for the first week. My tires lasted me about 4 months before I had to replace them. Now, I'm careful about burning out,...lol. the car had 18,000 miles or so... bought it at 14,000

 

I got over 52,000 miles on my stock tires. Repalced them with 235/17 Kumos.

If I went that long I would be driving on my rims


any comments on the NITTO INVO tire as a replacement from scionland out there??

you know what guys, it really comes down to alot of factors, drving habits, rotating regularly, geometry of the car, and operating conditions.

my mom's subaru legacy 2.5 gt limited has the same bridgestone protenza's that all our 05 tc's came with, but she at around 50 thousand miles on her original set and still has more to go, cause well, she drives like a woman in her mid 50's, which is much more conservative than most of us guys.

 

36k and looks like i can go another 20k

 

Mine lasted around 40K with rotation every oil change.

 

56k and i was still driving them.
Replaced with falken 912's which i took to penn state in 2-3 inches of snow last weekend. There great. Did have to get a boost from my trusty co-pilot once on an icey hill though...

I got the Falken 912's also. Maybe its in my head, but i can get around corners faster now.

 

I got about 38,000 before I started sliding all over the place in rain. But then again the stock tires weren't good for driving in the rain anyway.

I replaced mine with Goodyear GS F-1s. Love 'Em!

 

I changed out my stock Bridgestones at 10,000 miles and they still look new........rotated once at 5000........

I looked at the Invo Nittos as well..........they look like great tires.......I went withthe Z rated Neo Gen though.........and they are not quiet......well let me explain that......you can hear them in the turns..........straight road they are quiet..........but in the turns they make noise.........but they grip........

Tires last the longest when rotated religiously.....and air pressure is checked monthly.........

Softer/stickier the tire the less time it will last..........I figure my Neo Gens to give me 20000 tops and then they are gonna be worthless........but I am only using for spring to winter.......so they will set in the shed for 5 months as year.........so I hope to get 3 years out of them.........

 

yea, Discount tire doesn't recommend the NITTO INVO for winter. Strictly a summer tire pffffffffffft

I told them I wanted their quietest tire available and they told me the Yokohama YK520 wold do it. For 4 tires though it would run me $622 bucks WOW.

any comments on what's quietest? hmmmm

 

I'm at 48,000 now and still going but it is time.

This winter I was slipping pretty bad, got scared a few times.

I have stock suspension and rotated every 5k religiously. THat is the key rotate.
