Wheels do make a big difference in helping your tC stand out amongst the local tCs and that's not a bad thing. I do agree though that a drop should be priority because it will be hard to appreciate your nice wheels without a nice drop.
If your struts don't have too many miles on them, you can just use them with the new springs. You can always buy new struts to go with your lowering springs that way you could avoid have to change them out further down the road.
^May I suggest coilovers? You can adjust the ride height to your liking. Plus it's overall a better buy in the long run. I'm only suggesting coilovers because I've been down your road before. I got Tanabe DF210s and wheels. Over time, I wanted more low. lol
