Default New tire and wheel size to fit Obsidian Body kit?!!

Hey I was looking at the Obsidian body kit to go onto my car but I was wondering what size tires should fill in the fenders? I have no idea how much they add to the car's width... but please someone help me out I'm wondering:

-Size wheels and tires

-pros cons of this (will it affect my driving ect.)

Oh and I don't want spacers or w/e they're called, I heard they're horrible for the car.

I REALLY like this body kit so I really want to do it, just wondering how much needs to be done.
Thank you!

here are some pictures. Click on them to take you to the bigger pic

Are you planning on cutting your fenders?

cutting my fenders? I'm going to add the fenders they give, but I have no idea how much more space they give to fill up.

What do you mean by cutting my fenders?

Do more research.
I don't think you are ready to go wide. It gets very expensive very quickly and looks like ____ if not done correctly. You will need a good amount of body work, painting the car, the cost of the kit + install and a custom set of wheels.

I know. I have already gotten a guy who has done many body kits. He has painted and fixed my car when someone rear ended me and I trust him 100%. The last time I gave this question to him he knew about the body, not about the wheels. The fenders would cost about $600 a piece to get on (although I can get a bit of a discount I believe) and the painting and what not is not too much. The kit costs a grand. So I'm going to guess the MOST will be about $3000. Which I am very willing to spend on body work.

I just need to know about the wheels. What KIND of wheels do I need to look at? about 9-10 inches? will that drastically decrease my performance in handling?

Thats the stuff I need. Does anyone know?

They need to cut the fenders higher where the widebody fender starts to come out. which requires sanding down most of the paint in that area and whatnot. And by that time, ya the bodykit is only so much money, but the labor and paint will probably add another 2000 atleast, then you need probably about 19x9.5 wheels. They dont have to be custom but your stock wheels definately wont fit. Not sure about the tire size, and im not a genius at this subject but i did look into the route like you did and it turned out i would be spending about 5 grand, which by then you might as well buy something else for your car, i.e. a large turbo or somethin. Honestly if you plan on going showcar route, widebody is the way to go. All those cars you showed us have been in a magazine or like the first one in a show. They aren't daily drivers. The paint job probably was 2500 dollars alone.

Not trying to bash your idea or anything just saving you all the research.

Just my 2 cents. Just think about what else you can do first.

yeah, I understand. Thank you for that info.
hmm Well I'd have to talk to my body repair man again and see what he says will be the least.
I know it's more of a show car, but I'm not looking to race my car, maybe get some little extras along the way like new headers, intake, suspension, ect. but I'm still iffy on the turbo. Just incase it'll kill the car a bit.

So about 9.5s? Hmm that might be a huge tire... It WILL probably need more power to drive better. I wonder. Any one know what 9.5's will do to a tC? I was going to get 235/40/18s on my car and I know the tC would be fine with those.

you'll need 10's up front and 12's out back to look good. probably 255's and 295's MINIMUM. you will hate the drive of a widebody and expect to pay much more than 3k for the body work. you're looking at 8-10k to mold the fenders and paint the whole car. then you're looking at 3-5k for the wheels.

if you don't do it right everyone will laugh at you, if you do it right be prepared to drop 15k

do you absolutely need the kit? i guess its somewhat reasonable if you're trying to get more tire width for grip, but if its just for show... there's other ways to go... there's this guy here in town with a FM tC with the kit on and he's running stockies, looks ugly as heck... he probably didn't realize he had to cut the fenders before the install. ask the for the width extension of the fenders and make an estimate from there as to how much you should add. from the looks of it you'll probably be going for 9 to 10 inches in width at the most. i've read articles where tC's running AIT wide body kit roll on wheels 8.5 in width but the rears look tucked. the offset of the wheels are also going to be key in getting the right size... that's going to be a toughy...

i personally wouldn't get the kit unless i needed the extra contact patch due to having a high output engine. if you got a stock/near stock motor, chances are, having the extra width fenders and larger wheels is probably just going to worsen your gas mileage since there's added weight... (or maybe not... i'm not sure how much the fenders weigh and what material it is, but its obvious that having larger width wheels calls for large width tires which weight more for sure)... and who knows, the ride might even get rougher if the install isn't done right... just an opinion...

nah you guys are right.

I'm am impulse kind of guy and I was in "the moment" where I decided I wanted a wide body kit. But I think I'll due with my body kit I have. It's clean and I like it enough.

I think I'm going to go with a turbo kit. And some Rims.
