Default New Tires!!! Rubbing Issue Left Front only

well i ditched my old Yoko parada's 225/45/17 ( too noisy and not alot of grip) for some new Falken Azenis RT615 225/45/17 only size you can get from falken in this tire .... anyway im dropped on stechs and as everyone knows the drivers side sits a lil lower than the passengers side and now after the switch ive got major rubbing on the left front when cornering or dips my question is anyone have any idea why .. i never had any rubbing issues with the yokos why now with the falkens in the same tire size .. only thing ive found on the falkens that may be a bit odd is that a 225 in the rt615's is probobly the equivalent to a 235 in other tires...from the looks of the fender liner and all im rubbing on the top left corner of the splash guard any ideas as too what too do ie: cut hole in fender liner ( heard bad things if you have an intake)

any help would be appreciated or what it is the you might of done to help with the rub

17x9 wheels 30offset
Falken RT-615 225/45/17
Tein S-Techs
New Struts
??????

other than the rubbing it looks sick noticably wider than the yoko's

A little negative camber might help?

Even when they are both 225/45/17, actual measurements of a tire will vary slightly from different manufacturers and with different models.
Some tires are known to run thinner and some are known to run wider than advertised.

BTW, your sig says you had 235/40/17 Spec 2s.

a 225/45/17 will be slightly taller than a 235/40/17 and the RT615's are also designed a little beefier regardless of size. Tire rack I believe shows measurements between different tires other than just the normal tire size numbers. I think...

I had the same issue when I upgraded to the Kumho Ecsta XS... same numerical tire size, but much beefier... got a lil' rubbing here and there... but the added grip is well worth the added noise... and if it gets THAT bad... I'll just turn up the coilovers...

i know the r615s are alot beefier and sorry bout the sig mistake ive changed it time and time again but it doesnt seem to change ..lol...

well a lil negative camber cause bad tire wear ??

The tread difference in your old tire vs the new one might also have a bit to what you're seeing now. New tires going to be a fraction larger due to the newer tread.

one of my tires had a flat recently and i replaced it with a kumho ecsta xs...the beefiness makes the tire sit on my fender during a turn while the rest of my stock bridgestone turanzas dont. both are 245/45 i believe...whatever the stock size is.

just swap springs..

PLUS a newer tire has more and thicker tread than a used tire... so that may be an issue. The problem of a rt615 being thicker in tire base is just an addition to the problem.
