Redrilling bemer wheels
Quick question for you wheel freaks. Just curious if i could redrill bbs wheels that were meant for a bemer? I know alot of people redrill bbs wheels to fit their car.
Here is the link for the wheels in question. I ran into them on ebay and for some odd reason they caught my attention. Nice little side project.

If they are OE BMW wheels yes they are most likely manufactured by BBS, if they are knock offs, who knows. The work you'd have to put into them to make them fit on a tC would not be worth the cost. You also have to consider other things besides wheel diameter when determining what wheels fit your car. If you want those wheels bad enough sell the tC and buy the 5 series they were designed to fit.
Just so you know. Bimmer is the correct spelling and term used for the BMW automobiles. Beamer is the term used to describe their motorcycles.

i mostly agree but not with the statement about not worth the cost people redrill LMs and other BBS wheels, maybe he just really likes that wheel. it is a good looking wheel you have to say, BMW has great taste in wheels
I stand corrected. I don't trust ebay auctions with the word "style" in them because it almost certainly means it isn't the real thing. I guess this is an exception. I still think it's not worth spending the money. Find better wheels that are more deserving to be redrilled.

You are also looking at a change in offset. On the OE tC wheels I believe it is +45mm these say they are +20mm that's a 25mm change moving the wheel towards the outside of the vehicle. I know with a 235/40-17 tire on a 17 x8 with +35 offset puts the wheel flush with the side of the body that rarely rub but it still happens. If you get them re-drilled you might have to do some bodywork depending on what size tire you run to make it a safe fit.
Did some more reading. If I were to do this, I would have the hubs and brake rotors on the vehicle modified to match the wheels that I want to use. That would be a more safe option over drilling wheels which could damage their structural integrity.

^ 5x100 to 5x120 wheel adapters. They're 20mm so you'd be super-hellaflush! LOL. Maybe you can find these in 10-15mm or something.
