I don't know why people are so afraid of camber. It's not like you'll be running -8 degrees to get those to fit. But adding as little as -0.5 degrees to your stock camber could be all it takes to keep the tires off the fenders. Keep in mind lowering springs are not as stiff as coilover springs so there's a chance that no matter what you do, you'll be hitting the splash guards on bumps/dips.

I'm not completely opposed to camber, but I'd like to stay as far away from crazy as I can. A degree or two I can live with but....



..... well, that's just ridiculous to me. I want to be closer to flush. If I have to rock a bit of camber so I can do it, then that's what I'll do. I just want to know if my planned set up will cause issues.

hi guys im looking to get 17x9 inch rims does anyone know the offset so i can run flush but without rubbing. or should i go with a staggered 17x8 in the front with a 17x9 in the rear?

I'm looking into getting some 18x9.5 +38 et on the rears, would I rub? Riding on s-techs currently but going to switch to coilovers soon, also what tire size could i run for a mild stretch? i've been searching and im just getting extremely confused

I have to admit that the chart that was made by the OP on this thread is pretty damn decent.
I only have one question in my case....

Car: '08 1G tC.
Suspension: Lowered (on Hotchkis TVS Stage1)
Front - approx. 1/2" gap from top of tire to edge of fender (centered)
Rear - approx 1" from top of tire to edge of fender (centered)
(Current tire/wheel size is the stock 17" with a tire having a 45mm height sidewall)

Aside from the offset listed to clear the calipers of a specific vehicle, how can you tell if a particular set will sit flush, tucked or run the risk of rubbing anywhere?

For those of you guys not running center caps on your aftermarket wheels..what did you guys use to get rid of the rest on that area of the hub underneath the center cap? I forgot what it's called but usually there is rust where your hub centric rings would be around.

Default Wheel/Tire NOOB

Hey this is my first time upsizing from my stock 2006 tC, and I've read TONS of info from multiple sources including the chart on this thread for offsets and nothing seems to be 100% clear to me because much of it is conflicting. So i was looking for any help concerning the look of my upsizing. My tC is completely stock 17" stock wheels, no drop etc., and I've been looking at these XXR 530's - 18x7.5 +38mm offset, OR 17x8.25 +35mm offset (i believe).

Questions are:
1. How will this look (flush/tuck/poke)? (I am going for 100% flush, or if anything a tiny tuck, i hate poke, its disgusting...)

2. Will anything rub?

3. Which size is better/ makes more sense? (I'm not planning on adding a drop kit anytime soon)

4. What should else should i be concerned about?

Some might call me crazy for reading all 29 pages. Some might call me crazier for reading all kabajillion pages of the the high end thread, but you guys make me laugh, especially the guy who paid like 2k for custom tenzos or whatever. Anyways, I'm pretty sure it'll fit, but I only saw one other person ask about the same set up I'm considering, and being as skeptical as i am, just had to ask. So flame on if you must but…

…will 18x8.5 +40 with a 235/45/18 rub at all or cause any problems? I have 0 (stock)drop and am not planning on it. I would love to, but if any of you have driven in k-town or down sunset/santa monica blvd., or pretty much anywhere central in los angeles, the roads are horrid. Plus I have an rs3, so the kit already kills me on clearance (yes, I do scrape on stock height).

Im looking at a set of buddy club p1 sf challenges btw.

I had stock wheels, 17x7 +45 with 215 45 17 tires and 25 mm spacers and rubbed on bumps. Mind you, this was a lowered car with stiff coilovers. My guess is you will rub on large bumps, as your effective offset is +15 and I was rubbing on +20 effective offset with narrower tires and a fender roll.

were you rubbing in the front or the rear?? Now I'm thinking of running just an 8mm in the front and the 25mm in the back. Thanks in advance

I was rubbing with 25mm on the back. Never tried 25 on the front, but I'm sure it would have rubbed. Now I'm running 20mm all around on oem wheels for my winter setup.

The fact that you're stock height might address this, but I never tried with my stock suspension.

What's up guys? So I just acquired a 07 tC from my friend that is moving to New Zealand and hoping to get some insight and guidance from all of you. I was going to get a 17x8 +40 wheels with a 215/45/17 tyres and also in the process of dropping the car with a Tein basis coilovers with a 1.5 to 2 inch drop on the front and a 1.3 to 1.8 drop at the rear. I like a the wheels and tyres tucked in close to the fender instead of being flush to it just to avoid the hassle of messing with the camber witch I would prefer being in 0. I guess my question is will the wheel offset be good enough to be tucked in close to the fender? BTW I will get the wheel and tire combo on wheelfire.com, thank you very much for any suggestions you nice people will have.
