The specs for that tire states that it will be pinched too much, so that is why I want it on a 18X8. I was starting off at 1.5 but lower is always better.

"Pinched too much," what? The tire at that size can fit wheels in width from 7.5" to 9", that's pretty much the range across whatever brand you choose to get.

Click on specs and it'll show what it fits.

Great info here!! Need help

Ok let me see if i got this right...

Getting rims soon and the rims are

FR 18x9 et35 Bk 18x9 et35

Per the chart that we got here, in the FR flush; Bk Tucked.

Now going of the chart(srry) 18x9 et 25 would be flush

Do i need 10mm spacers to get it to match? Rolling fenders?

FYI
Dropped on RL Thanks

Okay so a guy is interested in purchasing my Tein S-Tech springs but he has 20 inch wheels. I don't know the offset so I figured asking for his other specs wouldn't matter. I've never messed with 20's on an import in my life. I figure he could be tucking an inch of tire. That's just according to an educated wild guess. If his offset and tires were good, would he still rub even after rolling fenders? Thank you. Yes I tried searching.

Hey guys! Ive been doing alot of research and i checked out the fitment guide. However i would like yalls opinion. I was going to get some 18x8.5 +30 all the way around and as of now, riding on stock suspesion. i was wondering how much if any rubbing would occur. My fenders are not rolled. I was thinking of getting 235/40 or 225/40 for my tires. Im also planning on getting some rl coilovers in the future. Dropped to about an inch above the wheel all around. What kind of rubbing would happen then. Thanks in advance for any input.

...A lot of rubbing if you plan on dropping as low as mentioned. An offset of 30 is perfectly flush in the rear on an 8.5. 30 in the front will poke about 7 or 8 mm. I'm on 17x8.5 37 up front 30 in rear (after adapters) on 205/40s. Probably could've gotten away with 205/45s. I'm also on rokkors, as low as they'll go before removing rings or cutting bumpstops. You'll need a roll on the rear fenders unless you run about neg 3 camber or so. Front will rub on fender liners for sure.

Appreciate the response! Very helpful information. It turns out I wont be able to get the springs as soon as I liked. So ill be riding with stock height for a little while. Could I get away with some 225/35's with not as much drop as mentioned above. Being that the fronts will poke a lil. I would also like to keep all the tires the same size for rotating. Thanks again.

If @ stock height, you shouldn't rub. And even on springs, I still don't think you would have to worry about it.

A ??x8.5 +30 is not flush. I'm on 17x8 +20 all around and have no problems. Front is flush(think I have about -1* camber), rear is tucked(running about -1.5* to -1.9* of camber, fender rolled, actually just half the lip, but will flatten that myself later). ^What's your alignment setup?

A pic showing the setup, think only one of it at current, can take another of just the rear.

EDIT: Just stepped outside took took this one

This is comparing his more pushed out setup(in GOLD) to mine(in GREEN color)

Now you're wanting to do 18x8.5, for tire the widest for clearance and getting low I'd go with a 215/40 Falken 512. As you see in the pic, it has a bit of a stretch of a 205/40 on 8. Don't know of any other tire that runs narrow, there are some out there though. I can say stay away from Capitol Sport UHP, no stretch at all, there's more pics posted in the collection.

first few flicks are all I have right now.

... Rears are around neg 1.5, and have a slight roll. Fronts are pretty much perfect. I do have parts of the fender liners removed, and have the front tabs bent up and ziptied. I'm on rokkors spun all the way down, with all rings and bumpstops intact. The wheels are 17x8.5 37 front and 30 rear after adapters and are perfectly flush. Not poking, not tucking, flush. I did my research before ordering adapters, as these were the desired results. I can take more pics tomorrow if you would like more angles.

ok expert advice time,

The Wheels I'm looking at are
18x8
35 offset
5-100 bolt pattern (how much does that matter?)

on 235/45Z R18 tires

I want a wider tire, tucked on coilovers. Probably D2s, unless there's a better option.

Whats wrong with this set up?

thanks

Well if they weren't 5x100 they wouldn't mount on your car. I'd probably run 225/40 tires though.

Planing on using 225x40x18 tires. Is that a good size for them?

Should be okay in the rear, but camber might be needed up front.

So. I came very close to an answer. I'm dropped on STechs. Currently on stock wheels. Thinking about going to 18x8 et 38 wearing 225/40 rubbers all around. The offset calculator says "Package will stick out 12 mm (0.5'') farther" and "Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 6 mm" over the stock tire on stock suspension. Is this going to create a problem with rubbing? What abut if I add 10mm spacers to get closer to flush? I have no plans on going lower. chicago_guy and GQQSE13 are on TRDs and never mention ET. One guy rubs and the other doesn't. I'm not looking to go all cambered out just to make it happen. I'll roll fenders if I have to.
