Default paint stripper on rim

i just painted my rims recently but i want to go back to stock. you guys think a paint stripper will damage the finish on the rim itself

Possibly. If its a lacquer just use some paint thinner and a rag. It should wipe off, but I dont think there is a need to take the paint off. You can paint over what you have down already unless it is Rustoleum. Ive had bad luck with painting over that sometimes.

i painted them black first which came out fine but i used that rustoleum and it just turned out bad. its flaky and the paint is coming off.

and for trading rims, i doubt you would want to when you see it, plus i just did it on 1 rim.

Sounds like you didnt prep (scuff/clean) the rim well enough.

what kind of "paint stripper" are you talking about?

There's the wheel type you put in a drill, and the chemical type you brush on...

Either could damage the finish, it simply depends on the specific product and how it's done.
