so i bought my tC used and the owner before me....lets just say he couldnt drive :/

all 4 of the stock rims have pretty bad curb rash all around
here is one of them just so u can hav an idea



so my idea is to paint the stock rims black, then add a red "lip" vinyl stripe from this site (found from a guy on painted stockies thread)

wud that stripe be big enough to cover the curb rash? also how wud u guys think my rims would look overall? (i have a flint mica tc with oem lip kit....no lowering springs :/

Step one: DROP THAT!!!
Its going to look weird till you drop the car regardless (you can find springs for about 100 used)

It'll look fine with blacked out wheels.
And no it wont cover up the curb rash you need to fix it by stripping and sanding it down, maybe even a die grinder

 

Love that site you linked to. You're trying to be economical about this and its possible that black will make those curb rashes less conspicuous.

 

springs wont be on for at least a 4-5 months

@mindoculae yea i dont think i will be getting rims anytime soon so ima try to do with what i have. and i do think the black would hide the rashes better. if u buy the vinyl lip from that site lemme know how they are.

right now i always get compliments about my car but some people point out my rims and think i did all those curb rashes :/
