Any of you think painting lug nuts a good idea? I've seen some lug nuts out there, but why waste money on another set of lug nuts when you already have some? I'd like some blue ones, but painting the stocks ones, is that a good or bad idea?

Let me know your opinions on this one.

sounds pointless, they would probably start chipping off right away, especially if anybody uses an impact wrench on them or something.

 

i was wondering about rays lugs. i just lately heard on a forums that rays lugs always end up fading. is there any way to prevent fading?

^^ needs to be stronger i think. it will probably just chip off. it just suks spending 150 on some lugs that will end up fading. i stilll want them tho when getting my rims

haha yep. ask chip n gothbox. i bought a set of supposedly 'anodized' ones for show and i barely tightened them and it all chipped off. not worth it. wont last except on the tips

 

I've done it with my regular conical lugs + spline drives. It lasted awhile without chipping. I put a ____load of clearcoat on it. It'll chip a little bit when you put a socket over it. I knew someone on this forum put a plastic bag over their socket before they stuck it into the lug to prevent metal on metal scratches. I tried it, it worked a little bit. Mines got ruined when I had it brought to toyota for repairs, and they used air tools while basically stripped the paint off.

 

just paint them and tell us your story... what's the worst that could happen? return to stock chrome? lol if anything, just sand down everything and polish it or make it a flat color if you'd like.

 

dont bother, theyll just chip away and look like crap.
