Default Powdercoating

So I went to a local powdercoating place and they're asking me $400 for a set of four stockies to be made into this mild dark gold color. I'm here going :WTF: that is expensive I thought they were suppose to be 200 for a set.

well...shop around...find some other prices, maybe ask a few people who have done it, preferably in your area if they did it and how much it cost.

Do you guys think a powdercoating company will take your rims off for you too? I just hate how inconvenient it is to take the rims off at a shop and take it to the company and back and forth.

oh, why ofcourse, and while they are taking off your wheels, they balance and align them for you while they are putting them on the car for you and so on.

i mean, they powder coat stuff, do they also work on cars? also, what is your car going to sit on while your wheels are being painted? might wanna bring some jackstands or something...

^j/k, but maybe you should get some jackstands if you dont already have them. Assuming you are going to follow through with the powdercoating.

I do powdercoating on the side... no oven access right now though. Is it easy? Yes, for the most part. Would it be cost effective for you to purchase all of the equipment to do it? If you are just going to do your wheels, then no. I still need to powdercoat mine, I will once I have access to the ovens again.
