Default A question for the educated about offset

Hi all,

I've searched the site and can't find anyone with an answer to my specific question. I have the TRD lowering springs (front and rear) installed on my tC and I want to get new wheels. The wheels I want come in 18" x 8.5" with an offset of +45 or +25. I definitely want to get the 25 offset for a better stance/look, but does anyone know if this setup of 18" x 8.5" +25 wheels and 225/40/r18 tires combined with my TRD springs will pose any problems? Any and all help is much appreciated...I wanna get some new shoes soon! haha thanks all!

you'll rub with 25 offset but it'll look so good. you'll need to roll the rear fenders and move down to 215/40/18 tires. but a TRD drop isnt that aggressive so you will very minimally. you should get the wheels and tires first. if it rubs alot (its gonna rub alittle), then get the rear fenders rolled.

i wouldnt get the 45 offset wheels. you wont rub, but it'll look terrible.

just something I've been wondering..

Would a wheel that is 18x8 et35 be anywhere near a stance that an 18x8.5 et47 have? I'm just wondering how that extra 1/2 in. affects the look/stance of the car. I'm sure it's been asked before but I'm to lazy to search ATM haha I'll be honest..

i think it an 18x8 et 35 would be like a 18x8.5 et 41 i think it moves up in incriments of 6 iirc i remember soemone telling me that but idk if i got it screwed up.

as for op you shouldnt have to worry to much with the TRD drop its not an agressive enough drop for that size wheel. also IMO it wont look right, having agressive wheels like that with barely a drop you will want to go lower after you get the wheels (trust me), i would do what HKSpeed suggested and get 215s on them so that when you do go lower (and you will lol) you will just have to roll the fenders and run some camber and it'll look good (fitment wise, you still havent mentioned the type of wheel you plan on getting)

thanks dave..that's what i figured..so 18x8.5 et47 won't look TOO bad...I'm not into some of the crazy agressive setups you guys are lol but I don't want to be super tucked either..don't even know what I wanna do yet just checking some things out..
