Actually, HRE's are notoriously "soft" wheels.

While every wheel is prone to bending and damage, the more expensive, forged wheels can withstand the abuse more than low quality cast wheels. The cheap wheels might bend on the 2nd or 3rd pothole, but the forged wheel may last to the 6th or 7th.

I'd feel much safer rolling on Enkei wheels rather than R1.

Personally, I have always liked the RPF1, NT03+M and EVO 5 in gray.

my cheapo rims hit a deep ___ pothole at 45 mph and didnt bend or dent. i think the stock yokohamas saved them with the safety lip.

unless your rolling on schmidt wheels which are pretty much indestructable, your wheel could get f'd up one way or another.
no HRE wheels are the most overpriced wheels around, they're not allowed on tracks or anything, HRE's are all name (much like any name brand clothing)

I been running R1's on 19" for almost 2 years with no problems at all and streets on Puerto Rico are nothing like the ones on the states. I had a lot of different rims on the past and I truly believe these are good wheels, hard as hell and with a great price. I don't understand why other people say that about R1.

Good wheels don't have to cost a lot. Enkei's are pretty good and the Work Emotion series is pretty affordable.
dont forget my 5zigen's haha
