Default RAZE WHEELS

I'm stuck. I have a 2005 SSM tC and am looking for new wheels. I really like a couple of the Raze wheels, the r84 and the r51, and MAYBE the r74. I definitely want an 18" wheel. Here is where my problem lies:

1) I like the r84 best, in the Gunmetal and Gold finish, but they don't come in a 5x100 bolt pattern. Is there any way to special order a set to fit the tC with a 5x100 bolt pattern? If so, which of those two finishes do you think would look best on a SSM tC?

2) I like the r51 second best. They have them in 8 and 10 spokes, but only the 10 spoke wheel has a 5x100 bolt pattern. That's fine, I still like the look of the 10 spoke one, but they don't come in all the same finishes as the 8 spoke wheel. I specifically like the Gunmetal finish of the 8 spoke ones, but they only have a Hyper Silver for the 10 spoke wheels. Again, is there a way I could get the 10 spoke wheel that fits, but in a finish that they offer for only the 8 spoke wheel?

3) I like the r74s, but not as much as the two previous wheels. For some reason the only finish I like for these wheels is the Gold, but I'm weary of the way the Gold finish would look on a SSM tC. Opinions?

Just looking for suggestions/opinions...and no, I don't want any opinions like "I like none of these wheels." I like these wheels, I'm just trying to find a way to work it out to fit the tC and in the finish I want. Otherwise, I'll just go with the r51 10 spoke wheels with the Hyper Silver finish.

Here is a website where you can view each style and finish of these wheels.

Thanks for looking, and thanks for the help!

raze wheels are knock offs of real wheels i.e. volks, works etc....

I don't know...I guess because I like the Raze wheels that I found. And there is probably a significant price difference. Which 'real' wheels are similar to the Raze r51, r74 and r84 that I already know I like? Is there anything wrong with Raze wheels' quality, or just that they are essentially 'knock offs'?

knock offs typically imply that the quality has dropped off. granted there is a price differential but imho its well worth it.

Haha well this was a good example of an opinion I wasn't really looking for. I know which wheels I want, so I just wanted my questions answered. But if I must know that Raze wheels are knock offs then I might as well learn more about what Nebster suggests for me that are similar styles to what I know I like in the Raze wheels.

On a side note, can anybody else give me answers or suggestions to my questions?
Thanks ahead of time!

If the quality isn't THAT bad then I'm not too worried about it. The roads I drive on in Houston area all highway and smooth neighborhood streets, so I'm not worried about potholes and those kinds of things. Plus, I'm a fan of buying the best quality tire, regardless of the price, so they should protect the wheels plenty well...I think?

1) If they don't come in 5x100, don't bother. Any necessary adapters or anything needed might sacrifice safety to fit the wheel. Plus they're cheap wheels so spending the money on adapters or anything else just wouldn't be worth it for the $$ you're spending on the wheel.

2) If they don't offer it in that finish, the only other way you'd get it is to paint them yourself. You could try contacting Raze to get a custom one, but at that point you're upping your price significantly and should just get a better wheel.

3) Some gold on silver look decent. There was just a thread on it the other day and they looked OK.

4) Raze are typically considered "cheap" wheels or "knock offs." They may be OK for you and you make like them and not have any problems... but they're not "nice" or "quality" wheels by any means. Nebster has a fetish for expensive/very high end wheels... so you'll have to forgive him a bit. In a way he's trying to educate the public about buying cheap wheels... you just may not care for his approach.

Thanks, ack154. Maybe you could lead me to similar styles as the ones I listed in a better quality brand. I don't like being cheap about anything, but sometimes I think I'm done dumping money into my car and it drives me away from spending 1500-2000 on tires/wheels. Thanks!

Putting a high quality tire on a cheap wheel doesn't mean much of anything. It would be like getting a $10k paint job for a broke down Hyundai Elantra.

Of course if you find the wheels you like, get the wheels you like... BUT... if you want to consider some other wheels...

Work Emotion CR-Kai or Volk TE-37 would fit the bill for what you're looking for. And these are typically the type of wheel that you order whatever way you want. So you can get the finish you want with the size/offset/bolt pattern you want no matter what.

Maybe some Gram Lights... 57Maximum would be close to the TE37 above. Or some OZ Racing Ultraleggera even... they would be on the lower end, but still fairly decent quality (better than Raze at least). WedsSport SA-70?

I'm just pulling these off of TireRack... I'm sure there are MANY other decent ones out there.

Thanks. Those wheels are really nice, but way out of my price range for a set of wheels. For the looks and for my price range, I think I like the Raze wheels. Thanks for the suggestions about finding the right finish, etc. I guess I'll try to get ahold of Raze and see what I would be looking at to have the r51's in a different finish or the r84s to fit a 5x100 bolt pattern.

I don't have stock wheels. I have Konig Unknowns already wrapped in 225/40/18, but I was in a fender bender and was pushed into the median on a highway and bent/scraped the crap out of 3 out of 4 of the wheels. I actually NEED to replace the wheels. I'm on a TRD drop and would like to stick with 18" wheels that would fit my tires, since they only have 5,000 miles on them.

I understand you like those wheels, but why try to get custom cheap wheels? If they don't have it in 5x100 move on.

buy a set of used stockies and keep your 18" tires for when you can afford to put a higher quality product on that actually improves the quality of your vehicle

konig unknowns are one of the ugliest rims
no offense.
if you dont have stockies you can find a set on craigslist or in the classifieds section here in SL for pretty cheap.
