Default Riken Raptor ZR?

so i work for GM... i know make fun haha... anyways i asked the parts manager at my work what kinda deal i could get on a Z rated tire that would stand up to the rigors of occasional track use. he called the tire people that we go through and said he could get Riken Raptor ZR's in the 215/45ZR17 for $88 a tire... i was a little skeptical so i told him to hold off and i would ask around to see what the heck these things are. apparently they are made by michellin and are a "new line" of tires... anyone using these or have considered using them... i dont know about you guys but 88 dollars a tire is cheap for a Z rated tire. unless of course they are prone to failure and are totall pieces of crap. so if anyone could get back to me that would be awesome.

I checked around for info on these tires, I found these tires on sale at the website listed below for $65.00/tire, size 215/45/17ZR. I am not sure if the price you got from your shop is correct, but it's cheaper somewhere else. IMO, they look like Kuhmo Ecsta/Supra tredding.

Here is a website with more information on the new tire line-up.

yeah but whats the price after shipping... shipping tires is expensive. im not so much concerned about the price because no matter how cheap you get something there is always someone who will get it cheaper than you then point and laugh saying you shoulda.... dont get me wrong i keep my eyes peeled for bargains for sure cause i am in no way rich. i appreciate the link and i will totally see what the price is with shipping and compare.... im more looking for someone who has some sort of dealings with these tires... if you look at them by the numbers they are decent tires treadware 300 traction AA temp A...
