Default RUBBING QUESTION

Okay. . .so this is what I am trying to understand. . . .

1. What exactly are the negative effects of rubbing? And what part of the wheel actually rubs?
2. If you are aware of these negative effects, why do you still lower your car such that it rubs?
3. Besides fender rolling and cutting out plastic how do you minimize or eliminate rubbing if at all possible?

I ask this because I am fighting myself over what wheels to get, but all the rims that I want to get are 19x8.5. . .and I want to lower my car without rubbing. . .but TRD is not quite low enough for me. . .however id rather get TRD's if it means I don't rub. . .is there ANY way around this?!

1. depends on where its rubbing, it can rub the fender, the plastic liner, the inner fenderwheel (lock to lock) it really depends on your wheels. Negative effects are extreme wear on your tire / plastic to the point where its decentigrated.
2. it looks bad ___
3. change wheels?

the only way is to remove plastic, roll fenders get different wheels or select a different drop..... do it or don't do it lol it doesn't both me but my plastic liners are completely shot

get the right size wheel and offset then you dont have to worry about rubbing. a 18x8 wheel with a +35-40mm offset will look good without worrying about rubbing. unless your into this look...then forget everything i said.
