Well, if you were to get new wheels would you keep the specs the same, or would you go with a wider wheel setup, what's the goal? If you're replacing just the tires on the current wheels, do you want just any cheap tire, or one with good/decent grip, less road noise, good treadwear...?
Unless you plan on getting rims within the next few months, i would recommend just tires. Of course buying rims and tires would defintly be MORE expensive then just tires by themselves, depending on the rims and if your buying a set used.
I personally thought about buying a new set of rims and tires, but the current state of my financial, i decided to just get new tires and maybe by the end of the year, next year, i'll get some new rims and then get new tires.
Just gotta think, if you can afford both then go ahead, if not, then don't.
Btw if you want to know what tires or whatever I went with, i went with 215/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza 960 A/S Pole Position, and so far I am extremely happy with them.

So far thanks for the input everyone
I would like to get 18x9 rims most likely rotas since they are the cheapest haha
right now i have 18's i think they are by 7.5. The tires i have right now are Nexen N7000 i'm looking to get the same ones for these rims if i dont get new rims with tires. specs are 225/40zr18 not sure if that helps.
I just dont know if i should just save up to get a tire and wheel package or just save enough for tires.

Well if you get a bundle of wheels and tires it can save you money verse buying them seperatly. But if you really dotn have funds just get tires obviously! I love my Nitto NeoGens. got them earlier this year!

yeah well i'm saving up for tires but if i could save up for new rims and tires i will. I'm looking into used rims right now but unsure. Really like the Enkei Rpf1
save up at least a grand then for those and then check the classfieds on here. Peopl are always selling wheels. also check out NASIOC clasifieds as well since the wrx has the same bolt pattern.
