right now i'm running 18x7.5 +48 mm wheels dropped on s-tech's. With such a large offset, the wheels look really sunk into the wheel wells. Because of this, I want to get some wheel spacers. Should I go with 15mm or 20mm spacers? Keep in mind, i'm trying not to rub here.

Next, I want to switch to running wheel locks on all of the lugs. Right now my wheels don't have any locks on them, and with me moving into an apartment w/o a garage within a month, I would feel more safe having my wheels locked on. I've read up a little bit and came across the gorilla guard II locks. They're an exterior key type lock that also has a sheild that goes around them. Anyone know anything about these locks?

The lowest offset that I would run for a 7.5 inch rim wrap in 225/40/18 would be +33. So if you're running the +48 offset then you should get the 15mm spacers. I know someone that runs a +33 in the back and also put on some 5mm spacers and is still fine. And for the locks, i have no idea. There's always those ray lugs that have the seven sided locks.

 

You should get both. Use the 20mm for the rears and the 15mm for the fronts. I have a +35 offset and the rears still look a little tucked. Something about the cut of the rear wheel well from what I read on this site.

a total of 30mm offset is too much.. and you will get some rubbing... i have 19x7.5 x .45offset... and have 15mm H&R spacers out back... and have/had rubbing.. i had to modify the plastic "inside" the wheelwell to reduce the rubbing, but still have some minor issue when i corner hard, but i can live with that..

what surprised me was that the wheels do not rub on the lip of the fender it rubs on the plastic pieces inside and towards the rear.. a 33mm total offset should be ok...

actually.. it depends on the tire size aswell.. i had 215x35x19 with the spacers and had no problems... but the tires just looked to small... went to 225x35x19 and that is when i had rubbing problem..

 

Hey Hyghgynx, did you notice a difference in any way once you installed them?

 

I don't have spacers on my tC. +35 offset is pretty close to perfect IMO. (But nobody makes a 10mm spacer for the tC.) Someone posted a while back about using spacers with his aftermarket wheels. I'd do a SEARCH, but I'm too lazy.

*EDIT* After further research, I was wrong about running 20mm spacers in the back. 15mm all around would look the best. (Depending on what Lowering Springs you have and if you're running 18"s.)
