Default Specific Offset Question

To make a long story short, I was forced to drive into a curb which ruined:
1. Rims
2. Tires
3. Alignment
4. God knows what else

I wasn't expecting to have to buy new wheels, so I don't want to spend thousands of dollars. I did find a set of Exel Radius on Wheelmax for a decent price.

Being the wheel and tire noob I am, would an offset of 45mm (18"x7.5") rub on stock height. I don't think that it would, but could someone just confirm that for me. I wanted to buy the 35mm offset, but they are out of stock.

Also, sometime down the road, I may get a conservative drop (TRD). I still doubt that the tires would rub, but I am not sure.

I did look at this thread, but they were discussing 19 inch rims which is useless to me. If you can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

It's a sticky.

I know your problem too. Before looking into nice expensive tires and wheels, you may want to find out if there's frame damage or not. I knew that if there was damage on my Scion to the frame, I was just going to get it fit with refurbished stock rims, and sell it with a no-longer-clean record. But fortunately there wasn't, and hopefully I will be getting it back tomorrow after a month wait.

And to finally answer the question, I don't think there will be any rubbing.

Thanks. That was what I was trying to find.

I don't believe that there is any frame damage. I looked at the control arms, etc... and nothing was bent. I am going to take it to the dealership as soon as I can though.

When you hit the curb, could you feel an immediate difference in the steering wheel or did you only find out about the damage once it was on the lift.

The jackass kept driving so any incurring costs would be on my bill

I knew the instant I got out of my car. The front left rim was straight, while the front right rim was crammed into the fender.

However, my dad has handled all of the business regarding my accident, so to be honest I am not sure of exactly what was damaged. I've tried to be a part of the process, but I haven't even had a chance to go to the shop it's been at. He goes to it early in the morning and doesn't even wait for me.
Insurance covered all of it, I would think that you'd be covered to, unless the scenario suggested otherwise to investigators.

I'm lucky I guess. It's drivable, just pulls to the right a little. The other guy kept driving, so everything will be paid for buy your's truely.
