tC Painted Stock Rims
^^^ ya thats what i was thinking too... my wife doesnt like the color so thats why im thinking of changing it... well i also think that if i get everything fixed on it (i.e orange peel like a mother, paint is already chipped and it has no shine) she will like it more and with the polished wheels and oem front it will look alot better...
i went to my high school friend's shop to get new tires installed. His worker left 2 scratches on each wheels!!
Maybe the dulicolor paint sucks? or his worker just bad at installing tires? I waited 6 days for the paint to cure.

so i painted my rims the other day and my rims came out no where i expected they are pretty bad plus i found out my rotors are completly destroyed and need to replace brakes. dont know what to do about rims should i sand them completly down and retry? rather just get them sandblasted does anybody have any advice??
Following steps for painting wheels.
1) take off wheels
2) wash wheels
3) let wheels dry
4) wedge index cards in between the tires and the wheel itself
5) spray on the bulldog adhesive promoter
6) light coat of paint
7) let dry
light coat again
9) let dry
10) light coat
11) let dry
12) light coat
13) let dry
14) clear coat
15) let dry
16) clear coat
17) let dry.
1
wet sand with 2500 grit sandpaper
Paint and clear coat should be sprayed on lightly to prevent paint from running.
You're best option now is to use a coarse sandpaper to put some gouges in the current paint on your wheels and to get the clear coat off. Then follow the above steps. The bulldog adhesive promoter in my opinion is extremely useful.

Hey whats the best paint for the most black glossy look? I used duplicolor "Satin Black" but it didnt come out glossy.... Should i wet sand them and just redo them in Satin and add clear? Or is there a better paint?
if you use dupicolor acrylic clear and do 3-4 coats they will look like they are wetter than wet.
lightly sand before you paint. Make sure you use a good primer also.
Would that be wetter than wet :p i shouldnt need a primer if i already have paint on there
eh, Primer will just help the paint have a surface to stick to plus prevent rust.
KillerxTC, rim paint is not impervious to damage.. it'll happen eventually.
I did exactly what wlfpck did, I still wish I'd done a third coat of clear.
Dizzzle, um rust? Are you saying corrosion/damage of the clear, paint, or the ALUMINUM wheels?
