tC Painted Stock Rims
Haven't seen anyone post on here in a while. Hope peeps still read this lol. Anyway, I'm painting my stockies this weekend and shopping around for paints. Has anyone used the rubber based paint? If so, how did it perform? I'm planning on doing gloss black, with an orange lip on my '07 FM.

By "rubber based paint" I'm assuming that you’re talking about Plastidip. To answer your question yes, many people have used Plastidip on their rims and pretty much everywhere else I can think of on a car minus the interior like the seats or something but I'm sure someone somewhere has used it there too lol.
I've seen Plastidip projects turn out really nice and the best part is that if you don't like it or you do a shotty job the first time you can just peel it off and try it again or switch to actually paint. People who aren't sure what color they like or people who like to change things all the time should use Plastidip first so they can peel it off easily and repaint if need be.
If you look back through this thread you'll see quite a few people that used Plastidip to paint their rims and it really does look good. (If you just scroll up you'll see that Witeboy Plastidipped his rims black and Basebllstar Plastidipped his an awesome shade of green.) I'd say give it a spray and see if it's for you. If not, just peel it off and try something else. Can't do that with spray paint or powder coats lol.
And sorry for talking everyone's ear off. My ADHD meds make me ramble in the morning lol.

Thanks for all the info. I ended up going with actual wheel paint. Primed, painted, and started clearing them. Did lots of work yesterday. Just have to clear them today and mount them. Here's where I'm at so far.

Looks good man. Make sure to post a final pic with them mounted so we can all judge you and your craftsmanship lol. j/k
You should have taken more time in taping off the green; it looks a bit wavy, but it might just be this picture.
