i wanted to do a blue like that for next year but its just not the same on a car thats not slammed.

yeah looks somewhat even but i think the front is still higher but whatever ill live. i do agree it looks better on a car slammed though and i cant pull it off so im just going to paint bronze

 

These look great...love the gold...I got a 06 dark blue (same as your nautica i think)....love the color, but it shows minor dents and dings SO much Prolly going to go with black rims....everybody got em though

 

 

 

08_Scion_tC What grit/steps did you use to scuff up/sand your rims before the gold? Looks awesome, that's the color I'm going to do eventually

 

First I hit with a sanding wheel we have at work and got rid of all my curb marks, then I sanded it with 120 gritt, primer, sanded with 320, gold, sand with 320 again, clear.

 

Hopefully getting some super 7's tomorrow cheap. They have some curb marks so they will be fixed sanded down and painted Gold as well. I'll post pics up when it's all finished. I'll prob have my Gold 17's up for sale to if anyone is interested...

Well I picked up those super 7's today. I'll post pics of what they look like and the curb rash that is on them. I refinshed and primered two of them today. Keep in mind these rims were badly curb rashed and the 2 I refinished so far have zero signs of curb rash I only paid $220 for these I don't think it was a bad deal.

 

Here's the 2 I did so far... Bye bye Curb rash. Oh and yes they're going gold again

 

I hope it took me 90 mins just to do those 2 wheels lol.

 

what primer do you use?

 

Dupicolor filler primer it looks darker bc I wanted a darker coat for the gold so the first coat of primer was black followed by the grey.
