Ok so currently i am running 18x9.5 wheels and have a 225/40/18 tire.

I am looking at getting a little smaller of a tire but not sure if i should get 225/35/18s or if i should get 215/40/18s.

Keep in mind my car is daily driven and i do road trips sometimes which can be up to 6 hours of constant driving @ 80mph. Is it safe for me to run a 215/40 or am i better off going with a 225/35?

 

i think I personally would go with 225/35/18.

with 215 your not gonna be running anymore stretch than you are now, just with less sidewall

Won't a 225/35 let the car sit lower because of the lower profile tire? That's the reason I kind of want a 225/35.

 

^I'd try messing with a tire size calculator. Don't forget that not all tires are created equal. Some run narrower, some wider, another thing to think about. You might kick yourself for getting that 225 that runs wide that would work better as a 215.

Im running 225/40 on my 18x9.5 and I am having some rubbing. So Im going with 215/40 pretty soon and hopefully better clearance.

 

Yeah, I have Falken 512s in 225/40 that run narrow, almost look like 215/40s when stretched.

But the Nittos I'm currently running are super fat. I might just save myself the money and find someone who can get my Falkens on and give that a try.
