Default Tire/Wheel Question

Here's my dilemma...

I keep losing air in my 2 front tires... I've been told that maybe the seal broke? (I'm slowly learning about these things... ) So I'm wondering.... do I take it back to my mechanic and have him take the tire off and re-do the seal? Or just get new tires? I still have stock tires/rims... which I know are horrible. I would LOVE to get new ones, but funds are real low.

So price-wise... is it best to just get them fixed? Or if it's not much more than the cost of getting them fixed, should I just go for new ones?

Reasoning for the tire problem is that me and my bf had a little mishap on the Florida Turnpike in terrential rain and was headed towards an 18-wheeler. So he cut the wheel in the other direction so that we could live to see tomorrow and ended up skidding off the highway and down into the bushes and weeds and trees and whatnot and got stuck in the mud. Luckily, we were ok and my car came out with just a small dent on the back hatch...

My driver side front tire went flat the next day, so he got it fixed and I guess there was just alot of dirt and stuff in them? And then the passenger side started to lose air a week or 2 later... I just keep putting more air in them occasionally, but I would like to just fix the problem once and for all.

Any ideas?

check for bends or cracks in your rims....bent rims sometimes make tires leak.

you might have take the rim off to really see because they might be bent on the inside of the rim

and even if the bend isn't shown, a good balancer at a tire shop can measure run-out of the rim (measure for bends).. just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there..

So is it best to just check if they're bent? And how much of a hole will that dig in my pocket?

i'd have it checked out. have the tires checked for leaks, and then the wheel checked for "out of round/bent".

well if the wheel is bent, you need a new one
last i heard a new scion wheel is like $400 new.. a take off would be less.
