I need new tires pretty badly and just realized there were 2 options for my 06 tC on tires.com, one that was just tC and one that had "TPMS" on it...how do i know if my car had TPMS? I looked at the manual just now and I see "Tire pressure warning system" so that would be TPWS and not TPMS, is that the same thing? =/

Correct. And before anyone gets confused, the 05-06 does warn you when a tire is low, but that is not what they are referring to when saying TPMS. They are referring to a direct TPMS which has sensors in the wheels. Your 06 does not have this.

TPMS stands for Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and yes it does have them sort of.

 

True. On pre 07 models, the TPMS is performed by monitoring the individual wheel speeds.
