wheel bearing is shot.
are the wheel bearings considered part of the powertrain? if not how hard are they to do on the tC? i already called about it i know they are press in which is no big deal but how much of a pain is it to get to?
how do you know its shot? what symptoms did you notice?
typically ou have to remove the steering knuckle from the car to press in or out the wheel bearing races. i've never done it on a tC, but generally speaking i consider it a pain to get the knuckle out, but a major pain getting it back on (aligning it with the control arm, A arm, etc).

reason i ask is that i got an alignment done last week and was told my front driver-side wheel bearing is starting to wear, and will need to be replaced (not immediately, but eventually).
i got ~62K miles on my car right now. how long does the powertrain warranty last?
I'm surprised it was covered under pwr train warranty with the amount of miles you have... 58K? Probably was considered as a good will service on your part, cuz driving thru crazy potholes over time can cause conditional wear and tear on bearings.
GDTC - 60K/ 5 year pwrttrain warranty

Thanks scionosis!. i do drive downtown alot, over alot of potholes & cracks/repairs in the road. Still, 60K seems a very short life for a wheel bearing! My previous car (Integra) made it over 150K on it's original wheel bearings.
i did buy the extended warranty (with $0 deductible) with my vehicle, thank goodness!. i can't believe it might actually come in useful for once!

I replaced both of mine. It was pretty easy. you disconnect the tie rod, strut, ball joint, plus the nut at the end of the axle and you have the steering knuckle off, real simple if you have all the tools.
