Default Wheel Lock Key missing?!?!?

OK..Soooo long story short. Me: driving down the shore happy...next...metal type looking pipe smacks my bumper and shoots out the back of the car. Me: not so happy. Next thing I know the tire pressure light goes on.
Pull over, all tires are good. Park the car...come outside next morning not only is there a nice gash in the front bumper but I have a flat rear tire....

Soooooo....

I go to change it, but don't have the wheel key for the lock....IVE never changed the any of the wheels so who knows what happened to it...

so how do i get my wheel off to change the tire? I called my local dealership they said a replacement key could take 2-3 weeks to get....they said have a guy snap it off for me...but i really didn't wanna go that route..

also... how do you know when you need new tires..my front ones are starting to look a little beat i think....whats the trick with a penny or a dime?

Thanks.

do you have the oem wheel locks made by Mcgard? if yes, then the dealership should have a master key set. Mcgard only makes 6-8 different keys for these locks and the dealer should have a master set on hand for situations like this.

strange, dealerships should have a universal master key for the oem wheel locks because lots of people trade in their cars with wheel locks on and forget to give them the wheel lock key.

just have it towed to the dealership, or maybe if it will hold some air, fill it up as much as you can and drive it to the dealership to put the spare on.

and either wait for a new key, or just get a new set.

yea, I think ill end up waiting for a new pair. I see the full sets on ebay for like $50 shipped...ill have to get the whole thing just to get the key... I just have to make sure when they put the tire on not to put the wheel lock on. Cuz not only do i need to get that one new tire, ill need to do all 4.... so ill have to have the spare for like a week or two topppsss... The front to tires are shot... and i got a flat on the back rear...so technically i have one tire with like 55 percent thread...should i ***** up and get all four? or just get three?

yes get new tires, don't mix and match tires, not a good idea at all!

about the wheel lock, most dealers have the mcgard locks for about $30-50. Good quality, just dont let someone use an AIR WRENCH on them, that'll shatter them!

are you getting the potenze 960s? or the g009? they are both very good tires. the 960s are better tho. i work for firestone and thats just my recomendation. and the thing with legal limit is 2/32nds of an inch. if you take a penny, and flip it upside down and stick lincolns head into the tread you should not be able to see the top of lincolns head, if you do. need new tires great choice going with the bridgestone tires.
