Default wheel & tire question

i'm looking to get new wheels in the next few days, but i'm trying to figure a couple things out before i order em. if i'm gonna get 18x7.5 in the front, and 18x8 in the back, can u even really tell the difference between the two sizes, or is it basically gonna look the same? the 18x8 would cost me about $10-$20 more per wheel, which i figure is worth it if u can tell they're different. also, the offset for the 18x7.5 is 45, while the 18x8 is a 40 offset. would 225-40-18 tires be good for both wheel sizes? i think i'm gonna either get nitto nt555's or the continental extremet contact, but i'm not sure which one yet. any input or help would be great. thanx

why do a bigger width in the back..? you arent running rwd anytime soon. just stick with 18x7.5 all around IMO. and you wouldnt have to be paying an extra $40 for .5" more of wheel and tire.
