Default Who has a scratched/scuffed/dinged/bent/curbed wheel?

I just got my new set of wheels and I'm just thinking to be really careful when driving and parking the car. I wonder if someone can maintain their wheels not to be scratched, scuffed, dinged, bent, and curbed. Do you think it's possible?

Need to know how many here has put marks on their wheels and who has been taking care of them and are still in perfect condition. You can also state how long you have the wheels. This applies to OEM or aftermarket wheels.

It's just for my statistical data. So any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

i have curbed 2 of my rims, and it happened while I was still learning the feel of the tC. if you are already comfortable with the tc, you should be fine.

Good luck! Our road conditions suck bad here. I have dings on both sets of rims I have. And I baby the crap outta my tC! ('o5 with 16,700 miles on it.) It seems that when it rains or the roads are wet the rocks/gravel come loose. My tires kick up the loose rocks and BAM! I have a nick! I seem to notice more nicks and dings in the Winter and Spring times (when its wet) as opposed to Summer and Fall.

Dang mang.... It seems that living here in CA would be bad for all wheels. Me having a curbed wheel is like a drive by waiting to happen.

I don't wanna drive no more!!!

Haven't had the car too long (6 months) but I'm really careful every time I park next to a curb and they're still perfect...

I have 4 really scraped up wheels.

Ah, the joy of used cars. They're stock though, so i'm not too concerned as i'll replace them eventually.

you actually can repair the lip, you just have to take it to a shop that does wheel repair and they will do it for you, however it most likely will not be cheap.

and is the lip actually chrome or is it polished?

also, what rims did you get?

and to answer the original question, you can avoid almost everything except for dings(paint chips) because if you drive on any kind of road, rocks will fly up against your rims and chip them.

everything else should be preventable.

i have been driving on my stocks for 6+ months and no problems thus far, just a couple of chips.

What's the difference between a chrome lip and a polished lip? I had no idea they were two different things.

My wheels are a few curbs and scratches but they're really only noticeable up close so it doesn't bother me too much. Its damn near impossible to keep them perfect.

I got the Sportmax 009's in gunmetal. I think they have chrome lip, because to me, it looks chrome.

I just need to be careful now. I'm already done with my uber curbed stock rims.
