Default Winter wheels?

Im just curious what you guys are using for your winter wheel set up on your TC's

I looked on tirerack.com and seen that they have a 15'' wheel and tire combo for a what i think is a good price..a 15x6'' steel wheel and Blizzack WS60 205/60r15 for just over 500$ shipped...

Now here what threw a wrench in the whole thing is that i thought i would just call and see what kind of prices they could offer local and talked to the tire guy and he said that the biggest i could put under my car was 185/60r15 and said that 205 would rub...is that true? I know he is a tire guy and all but why would tirerack say that these tires would work if they wont? O and he was about 250$ more the same setup with the smaller tire...

Tried goggling it and looked at every chart that i could find on here so take an easy on me...

So if you guys/gals could let me know what you run or have run that way i know that they will work..

Thanks...

I've never heard of any1 with a tc running a 15"rim.. A 205 is smaller than the oem 215 . I would just buy winter tires for stock wheels. There is a super loss of contact patch switching to a 185.

Well i was wanting to get a set of wheels just for the winter so i dont have to pay every spring and fall to have tires put on and ruin my wheels even more then they are and its actually cheaper to get that set up, then it would to buy new tires and have mounted and demounted with the same tire just for my 17's

So no one runs a set of wheels for the winter?

I just put a set of 15's on my tC. I got a decent deal through Discount Tire.

Black steel rims and Blizzaks WS70 185/65 R 15. They roll fine and don't rub or anything.

Okay thats good to know so do you think that 205 would of been a little big seeing the 185 on your car not sure if you are lowered... just wondering is it even that big of deal? between the sizes?

The dif between 205's and 185's won't be too big of a difference for winter tires. However one thing that is great about Discount Tire is that you can always do a test fit before purchase.

Default 15" Alloys & Winter Tires on Tc

I used a set of 15" alloys and Dunlop Winter Sport M3's (Tirerack's recommended setup at the time) on a 2005 Tc. No clearance problems, great traction. With about 3,000 miles on them, they are very clean, and the treads look like new. The Tc was totalled a few months ago. The Alloys & Tires are Available now.

Im having the same problems. I have a spare set of stock rims that I want to use as snow wheels but 215/45/17 snow tires are expensive. So I might run 205/55/16. Would this fit on my car if I get some 16" steelies?
