Default XXR 527 Couple Questions. Please help.

I have a 2010 Scion tC. I want to get the XXR 527's. Unfortunately I do not know much about wheel fitments. I am lowered on S-Techs and eventually some B&G's or something. I am definitely going to get 17's. Nothing bigger. They sizes and offset that they offer are my questions. They make 17x8.25's. The 17x9.25's are too wide. My question about the 8.25's is that I really do not want to have to stretch my tires too much. I know they the rim is even referred to as "super stretch" (haha) but I was seeing if there is a low profile tire that would fit a little better than having to stretch the piiss out of most tires. And if I have to stretch a tire, what would be the best low profile (as low as possible) to stretch with these.

And the offset. They make 17x8.25's in +25's and +35's offsets. I am tucked right now with my stockies and s-techs. I would like to stay that way without have to mess with the camber. I don't really care to be flush. If i can stay more tucked, i'd be happier. But again, i could be totally off. So any input would be awesome. I know all you guys know your stuff about fitment and i would appreciate the imformation. Thanks guys.

the lower the offset, the more pushed out it will be. so to be safe, 35 offset is good. tc's can't fit 9inch width? i thought they could. maybe only in the rears not sure.

Cool. Thank you. So... +35 offset wil help me stay tucked then without messing with my camber?

yes you should be fine. there's a sticky thread about it. camber is more affected with springs.

I am familiar with this thread. But didn't find it too too helpful. If anyone has more information about offset with a drop or stretched 8.25 wheels please let me know. Thank you very much.

after some basic calculations, just measure 70mm from the seat of the wheels or base of the studs, toward the fender. that's how far the rim would be. i'm pretty sure you won't rub. the only way i can see it rubbing is if you have spacers on, or your tires are too big and will rub the wheel wells.

alright cool. so i will be tucked with the 35 offset? So then what about stretched tires? what size tires are you thinking? again i dont want to stretch as much as possible, but want to maintain a low profile tire.

i'd just use the tires on your stock assuming they are 225/45/17. unless your new rims come with tires. i don't know what stretched and low profile tires mean. but if your width of the tires are too low, you'll see like a small gap between the lip and tire and imo it doesn't look good. i have 205/45 on my rims and they're 7 inch width, fits perfectly.

Here is example of how 17x8.25+35 on a 225/45 R17 looks with race-land coils. Just perfectly flush but for me I get slight rubbing on bumps and my down-pipe takes a beating.

To correct itscurtsk you will not tuck tires unless your slammed and even then it will be difficult to tuck because these wheels are 8.25+35 or if you go +25 you definitely won't tuck. If you get B&G's and want to go low you'll need some fender work because you'll eat up your tire sidewall from too much contact with the fender and wheel well.

i assume he would tuck since he's already tucking and he's not changing rim size.

Excellent. That picture helps. Thank you. So tire-wise, a 225/45/17 would be just fine and won't have any drastic stretching going on. But with these xxr's i can't keep it in the fenders? Is that because of the 8.25? So if I were to change up rims and get a 17x7.5 at the most, then I could probably stay tucked? without messing with camber?

CriminalTC 225/45R17 is a meaty tire compared to 215/45 unless you go with a lower tire size you won't stretch.

You can adjust camber front and rear and see how it works for you.

17x8.25 can fit but I was just using myself as a reference since I'm lowered on coilovers I rub but it might be different for you.

I'm not sure XXR make 17x7.5 rims.

If I read his post correctly he is on stock wheels 17x7 going to 17x8.25 might not sound like much but it does add width and will put the tire right at the fender.

Yeah. XXR's aren't for me. I wanna stay inside. No hellaflush look for me. I'm not too into that. Tucked is what's up. But yeah, now I just am having a hard time finding a rim with a similar pattern in a 17x7 or 7.5. i was thinking Motegi, Enkei, Drags... I don't know a whole lot about these rim companies but i have seen them around and they seem to make decent ish at a reasonable cost. I do appreciate your input. And any rim suggestion would be dandy

Hi, I'm totally a noob when it comes to wheel and tires. I'm getting a set of these in 17x8.25 with +35 offset. If I don't want any stretched tires then which tire sizes should I go with 215/45/17 or 225/45/17.

XXR indeed made a name for themselves for making them in .25 increments

Eventually I will get my fenders rolled and lowered on coils, but for now I'm lowered on Htech, so there wont be any issue with the fenders right?
