I am also looking to buy the same wheels and I would too like to know how these would fit running 215/45/17s all around.

Rims are categorized "super stretch" but those sidewalls freak me out. People run 215s/225s on the stock rims that are only 7" wide, and using the 225s on a rim that's 1.25" wider doesn't seem right. Why not go with 235s and get a wider footprint, not to mention worrying about stretch? You're rims are wider but your tire isn't...Barely any plus side to traction with that, IMO.
Offset on stock tC wheels for me is 45, btw. I've an '06 though, not sure on '10

I run 225s on a 10 and can stick a credit card between the tire and wheel lip... you will be fine with 225s on an 8.

They say "super stretch" because of the wheel size. yet stretch is all controlled by the owner. just transfer the width of the wheel into millimeters and that'll tell you what size tire to use.

buy the 8.25 in 35 offset. if you want them more flush, buy spacers. a 25 offset will just make the wheels more concave and stick out 10mm farther

i have xxrs 527 on my 2006 scion tc and they have to be the worst rims i have ever had on a car. they are so cheaply made i basically spent 600 on useless scrap metal. i will never buy xxrs again, i sugest you chose something else.

Your inquiry doesn't really help us. What exactly was wrong with the wheels so we can see for ourselves and confirm this?

there just porly made. the ride is horrible. and there not strong. i was getting off an exit ramp and ran over a slite crack in the road and the front rim cracked and the back rim bent. a rim should be able to take a little ware and tare i feel like i have to drive 15 miles an hour becuase im afraid the rims are gunna break from running over a rock...
