Ay. So I got my first Scion a few days ago, and I absolutely *love* it, but I'm running into some trouble installing these Winjet foglights. They're in the bumper, wires all tidy in the engine bay and through the nipple I cut off in the firewall. The switch is installed, and ready to go. However I'm having a heck of a time finding a fuse or wire to tap into inside the cab. I know where to put the positive wire in the engine bay, and the ground, and where to put the ground inside the cab, but I can't figure out where to put the positive wire inside. According to the wire color diagram that was I believe posted on these forums, the 'blue' wire is the headlight/parking lights to the front and rear. However when I tested two 'blue' (one a soft blue, the other a cyan-ish?) wires with a multimeter, I received current when the car was on regardless if the lights were on or not.
So if someone has a reference picture of the wire to the parking lights, that would be amazingly helpful and I could finally finish installing these darn things. If you don't think it's ideal, I'm open to suggestions. I was originally going to use a fuse tap into the ignition fuse, but it's rated 7.5 amps, and I'm concerned about overloading it. I also considered the power outlet (lighter I believe?) but was concerned about overloading that as well since I use a dash cam.
Hopefully this doesn't seem too noobish. I did poke through various older threads, but didn't find what I was looking for. Been trying to sort this out for a few days off and on so I really appreciate any help.
I just tapped into one of the ignition wires for the turn-on wire with mine (I don't remember which one, but it also powers my footwell leds, so probably cig lighter - been some years since I messed with it). IIRC the relay should pull power directly off the battery but the switch controls the turn-on function. With this setup I can run mine as independent DRL's and have been for over 2 years.
If you're planning on putting HID's in there, replace the lens with the projector fogs from IJDMTOY or you'll blind the whole neighborhood as there's no cutoff on the winjets.

Ay thanks for the reply. I finally figured out the wire, and got them fully installed. :D
However I'm curious -- Would these lights be suitable in winjets without having to change the lens? I believe they say Xenon, but they should be LED. Or are there LEDs you can recommend that will better match the headlights? I was considering replacing all four just to get rid of the halogen bulbs all together.
I only run Morimoto HID kits, I can't speak for other brands. I've never had a good experience with other brands and I don't like LED because even the high end kits are only about 85% as bright as a 35w HID kit.
Sounds good, thanks I appreciate it! I know there’s a few blue colored wires down there, I had a feeling it was one of them. Let me know(or anyone for that matter) and thanks again!

Ay sorry for the delay. I was actually wrong! It's a brown wire. So I snapped a couple pictures so you could see what I was referring to. This wiring was bound up when I opened this panel
(the one left of the steering wheel with the slot for your fog light switch)
If I remember right, so don't be afraid to unravel it a bit to work with it easier. This is the *original* fog light wiring which would be basically plug n play if you got an OEM fog light kit.
There's two brown wires on that plug. It's the inside one (shown in the images). Wouldn't hurt to double check it with a multimeter, but you should have no trouble if you go by the images.
Instead of clipping the wire completely, I tapped it by keeping the brown wire whole (inner exposed, but not severed), and wrapping the end of the red wire to it before taping it up.
It allows me to remove the red wire later and covering the brown one whereas the other way means having to fix the brown wire if it were cut in half.
Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask :D

how were you able to feed the wire through the fire wall? I can only seem to find on passage and I can’t pass anything through

So there should be a rubber cap that the wires run through. On it near the current entry hole into the cabin, is a rubber nipple. You cut the top off that to feed new wires in through from the engine bay. Hope that helps. :D
So I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t find the right wire for the switch. I’ve tried to connect it the same way you posted on here but the fog lights still don’t want to work.

You’ve found the factory harness for the OEM fog lights right? It should be taped down to the harness for your mirrors. Once you find it, tap into the Brown wire closest to the center on the grey clip.
Once you’ve tapped in, turn on your Day Time Runners and your switch should power up. I thought I wired something wrong until I turned the actual headlights on.
So I tapped into the wire you said and still nothing. So I took it out and tested all the wires from the factory plug and none are receiving any power.
