3m Paint Protection
I did a quick search on the forums and didn't find much for the tC 2nd gen.
I currently have a 2014 tC and I'm debating on the paint protection stuff I'm looking around for the best deals in Calgary still but so far two places have quoted me a few prices for some of their packages. Both places do at least 12-24 inches of the hood although the full hood costs about $400
I'm debating if I want to do a full hood wrap for the tC as the 2014 hood kind of slinks downwards and another consideration is the rocker panels.
Anyone with previous models have any advice?

I think very few people do a full hood wrap, it seems a bit excessive. I think it comes down to how much you want to spend on the film. I got 18 inches on the hood and fenders, and I have been doing a bit of highway driving this summer and my hood is untouched.
However, I opted out of putting film on the front bumper, and there are already 3 chips where all the paint has come off completely and it's black. I have an Alpine White so it's a bit more obvious. If you want to maximize your protection for the best cost/protection ratio, I'd suggest doing 18-24 inches of the hood and a full bumper wrap instead of just a full hood film.

The full hood wrap here seems to be about $400
and both places I've quoted from seem to offer the same price. Rocker panels are about $300 but I might consider it for the tC since water splashes on the side quite easily.
The paint protection film is amazing stuff. But it's not cheap that's why normally you only see the front bumper, 1/4 hood, 1/4 fenders and mirrors done.... Maybe you should look into the 3M Paint Defender for areas like the rockers.
I've seen videos of that new product looks pretty neat but I don't think I have that kind of patience lol I can tolerate washing my own car but I've gotten lazy with Waterless Wash & Wax products, last one I used and tested on my mom's Altima was Dry Shine.
I agree completely with this. Paint protection really is useful in protecting your clear coat from bugs and bird droppings, along with minor scuffs, scratches, ect. I personally had 18" of my tC wrapped, along with the entire front bumper, the headlights, the side mirrors, and the top of the rear bumper. I regret paying the $800 for the shop to install the film, as the film doesn't really prevent rock chips, but does make the rock impacts a bit easier on the paint. If I could do it over again, I would buy 3M's paint defender spray and do it myself. Much cheaper, and the protection will be basically equal to the expensive film. Not to mention the shop did a hack job on my film, they left bubbles in some spots.
I guess the hood wrap will depend on how angeled the hood is I might just do 18" minimum + bumper, mirrors and fenders.
Maybe the rocker panels as for the rear not too sure myself its just water that seems to splash on there.
I've been doing a lot of inquiries with Calgary companies but some of them ask too much money for their product. I might just go with the one here that has been here for 30+ years.
Also that 3M Paint Defender is not allowed to be sold in Canada just yet.
