Sadly not going with an Alpine setup:

...still not decided on anything 100% but seeing the options people go with does help.

I have three passive backup cameras. They use the direct reflection of lightwaves, rather than collection and digitization. They came stock. ;-)

I keed, I keed.

I've never considered the tC to be a car big enough to need a backup camera. I mean, why not add some rooftop positional running lights, curb feelers, and some of those giant multi-angle mirrors from a school bus too?

I know, it's not that you need a backup camera for the car (if you can't parallel park or back out a tC, you probably aren't competent to hold a license anyway), but it's a cool geez whiz feature... at least until someone decides to make it a mandatory safety item because of suburban soccermoms in SUVs and minivans.

Myself, I have a hard time seeing out the back around 4-5 o'clock and the 7-8 o'clock positions due to the thick c-pillar, and thanks to a neck injury, it's just better to have another way to see things behind me.

Understandable.

I used to work with a guy who had a b*tch of a time parking his Durango in the parallel spaces. He'd do about an 8 point turn trying to get lined up. When I found out he had that much trouble WITH a camera, I gave him non-stop hell for it.

The reason why I need the reverse camera badly is night time with dark tint in the rear window I can't hardly see anything specially when it's raining and foggy.

anyways! I got mine camera from Fry's Electronic I think it's DP Brand for $29.99 but I was employed there so I got it maybe $20 or less. the video quality was imazing clear, I'll take some pictures of it later today. I had it wired to the parking light so when I have my parking light on the camera is on. In another case that when I throw it into reverse my HU will automaticly switch to the camera, with the camera powered on with parking light sometime it's nice to view the rear while driving instead you have to turn back all the time. just can't believe how expensive the other reverse camera are, when this cheap one give imazing quality video.

No, the camera was seperate. I have the Alpine HCE-C117D camera with the KTX-C10LP license plate bracket. The bracket is really sturdy, has built in lights and also allows the camera to swivel up and down, hence the expensive price.

I just finished installing the Alpine HCE-C117D camera with the KTX-C10LP license plate bracket attached to my INA-W910 headunit. Everything works like a charm and the camera is extremely helpful, especially when I have to park in the city and the parallel spots are tight.

got my camera hooked up (finished about 30min ago lol ) only one problem like stated previously the SNS200 only sense the camera when the car is started with the reverse gear selected, not that big of a deal but it bothers me did anyone find a workaround?
