Default DRLs

I've been trying to find out how to disable DRLs on our car but failed.
Can anyone please show me the link?
TIA

I would like to install on/off switch on my DRLs. I don't like the idea of not being in control of my lights.

If you really want to control the DRL's with a switch..

1) Cut the power wire going to the DRL's.
2) Run one side of the wire into the cabin and hook it up to 1 side of a switch
3) Run a wire from the other side of the switch back to where you spliced the DRL power wire and connect it to the other side of the power wire.

Wallah, you can now control your DRL's with a switch

Thanks, project! But what's the color of the wire? I did this mod on my corolla. And i'm trying to find out what the drl color is on the tc on the 48 pin behind the HU..

Do all toyotas use 48pin wiring and color?

Thanks again!

DRL..

i'm assuming ur from Canada. US tC2s dont have DRLs, which is why most of us wouldn't (can't) try such a mod.

what about the lights that are called "parking lights" that are on the corners? I think they might be orange. Wouldnt those be daytime running lights? they come on on the first click of your lights.

You are right, those are called "parking lights". Some call it "clearance lights".

The OEM DRLs are not separate. It's just the high beams with low voltage current that turns on whenever you start the engine with hand brakes down.

I checked TRD Sparks. What they are selling is the universal ones.

That's what they did on Saturns. The DRL was the high-beam at 50% output. I used to use them as fog lights as well. I really liked having them and wish the box had them, too.

If you really want to show off, do retrofit with halos for your DRL.

Yes, that's what I meant. I personally don't like them.
