Default HID lights

So I just got my tC almost a week ago and I'm loving it except for one thing, the lights. The lights are horrible, they barely illuminate so it makes it really hard to drive at night and I don't want to go buy other lights when I could do a one time thing, that really illuminate the road since I have tons of dear near me. My brother ordered his HID's from this site:

http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/i...?___store=mobi

they were amazing for his Hyundai tiburon he used to have but didn't know if anybody has heard of them for Scion tC's.

Any hid kit with good ballast and bulbs for h-11 should work.

the stock headlights will always produce more useable light than an aftermarket hid kit

I am in no way arguing against you but, can you please elaborate why? I thought HID would be brighter if properly done or with a retro fit but, the stock lights on my 13' tC are the brightest non HID lights I have experienced and I think they are brighter or just as bright than some other peoples crappy after market HIDs and so I do not want to change mine.

Sorry for the run on sentence, im tired.

the stock projectors are not designed to house a HID bulb. The way the stock projectors distributes light is designed for a halogen bulb. Cars that come from the factory with true HIDs have projectors and housings that are designed to distribute the light currently. The most common misconception is that a HID bulbs and a halogen will produce light the same way.

For a retrofit, that is essentially using an OEM piece, and will have better lightout than the stock headlight with a stock halogen bulb.

In short, this is how it racks up

OEM HEADLIGHT W/ OEM HID = BEST
OEM HEADLIGHT W/ OEM HALOGEN BULB = GOOD
OEM HEADLIGHT W/ AFTERMARKET HIDS = CRAP
