Light scratch on paint

Light scratch on paint
So my brother tonight was not careful enough exiting my car and managed to scuff or scratch the edge of the passenger door on my 2014 tC.
I cleaned up the area a bit a microfiber cloth and I think it was only the clear coat on the paint but it shows up as a white scratch.
I was looking online on how to fix this myself so I could either spend about $30 for the 3M Kit or look into QuixxScratch at my local Canadian Tire or perhaps that Simoniz Fix It Pro which I believe only works for light clearcoat scratches.
Anyone have experience with the quality of paint on Toyota vehicles? It seems a bit thin to me..

What did he scuff/scratch it on? If the scratch is white, it might just be a bit of paint that transferred from whatever the door touched. If it is an actual paint scratch, maybe try polishing/buffing it out with a rubbing compound first to see if it can be fixed that way. You might have to buy a paint pen from the dealership.
Paint on a lot of newer cars (especially "cheap" cars like the tC) are very thin because of environmental regulations and of cost-cutting techniques.
