Already thinking of the LED retrofit

Already thinking of the LED retrofit
so...a couple of days ago I see a 2014 corolla behind me. It took me by surprise that it was equipped with HIDs. Wait....HIDs? WRONG! LEDs in projector headlight units!
Anyway i am going to look into getting my hands on a pair of 2014 Corolla headlights once they become played out. I will gut them open and retrofit them in my TC's headlights.

Everywhere I've read about LED headlights (especially lower-end cars like Prius V and 2014 Corolla) says that they aren't as bright as HID. Would be nice bragging rights to be able to say you have them retrofitted, and I'm sure they look great to oncoming traffic...but their actual output is not much brighter than halogen.

Personally I am happy with them. They are instant on, full brightness, no waiting like HID. They are supposed to come out with a 2000LM soon. Also have a set in the '06 xB I own. I difference between the low and hi is minimal, only 200LM but the low is plenty bright alone.
Have the V3 turns ordered for the "B" also but are on backorder. Already in the "C" and have been for about 5 months. After I get those in, both cars will be fully LED on the exterior and map/trunk lights inside.
Highly recommend spending the money on both!!

They do sell a LED kit bright enought for Low beams. I suppose they work better on projectors. Anyway the price is high. The Corollas are just flawless and they have a sick purple/blue flicker from diffrent angles.

I'm sorry but that is just too dang expensive for a pair of LED lights. I'm sure the instant on is nice, but I can afford to wait the 3-5 seconds for a Morimoto HID kit to warm up. Plus it's an extra 1000 lumens over the LED set.

How is the light output on the road with those LEDs?
They must have a lot of hot spots and a very uneven cutoff just by seeing the design of the bulb board. I think they work better on reflector housing. Halogen and HID bulbs
Light up on 360 deg radius producing more even light. Those LEDs might be good quality and be bright enough but I would like to see pictures of the light output on against a wall and on the road without any camera effects.

I saw one for the first time while in Pittsburgh on business and they do look pretty darn purple. I wish I had time to check it out further but I was with coworkers and didn't want to embarrass myself lol.
