Personally I think it looks better without that chintzy CF engine cover. I'd rather have the OEM one.

This is the real deal…I’ve seen them both up close and personal. As you can see from my engine bay photo, I do like and prefer the OEM stuff…the PasswordJDM is not chitzy. Being a long time Aerospace Structural Engineer, I can recognize the real stuff.

WHy pay for powder coating when you can do it yourself? Getting my valve cover done cost me a total of $15-20 for paint, sandpaper, and painters tape...... CHEAP!!!

plus IMO looks better than any engine cover out right now....

The Camry 2.5 fits I have it on my tC installed it yesterday.
It looks good enough no need to get all fancy but the carbon does look real nice.

Their is two major differences between the two. The 2010 toyota camry engine cover's lettering and logo is silver in color, as the 2011 toyota camry engine cover's lettering and logo is all black. If you want the cheaper one, and have a better base to paint the lettering/logo the 2010 is the way to go. Below is a comparison of what I am talking about..

2010 Toyota Camry engine cover

2011 Toyota Camry engine cover

RAV4 (2008?) 2009-2011 also uses the 2AR-FE and should fit. Just another thing to search, found one on eBay that was listed as RAV4 but not Camry/etc.

Other than it being TRD, what made you go with this particular intake over other big brands such as injen? We all know TRD is also +$100.

Is there a significant power gain over other brands?

^No intake makes power unless on a car that is choking trying to breathe. These cars are not.

Anyone that claims they make X hp from an intake is really good at reading boxes, but not at understanding how engines work.

The TRD intake is simple, does its job, and doesn't void engine warranties. You get a little bit of flash with it, but its still very sleeper. The maintenance component is also a heck of a lot nicer.

Are you checking your local dealer for parts or are you just referencing TRDSparks? Again, in Canada our focus was to price the parts so they were affordable, not to gouge! Check your dealer!

I guess my question is if there's any noticeable performance after installing the TRD intake. It sure *looks* good but I am not sure if it's worth the $4xx.

I was only referencing from TRDsparks but I will check the dealer coming Monday. Are Toyota dealers starting to stock up on TRD parts now or is it still in the air?

1. TRD has the backing of Toyota.
2. If I have to take the car back to the dealer, they won’t whine that I modified the engine.
3. I know TRD is engineered for that car…other shops say they are engineered, but there are no engineers in sight. I don’t know if Injen has any engineers. Since this is a new car model, I didn’t want to do the development work for a speed shop (Injen in this case) if they do not have any engineers.
4. I don’t think any speed shop is bigger than TRD or better established.

I doubt anybody gets “significant” power gains from just replacing an intake… and to really know, I would have had to buy several intakes and dyno them all to find out.

All are just little reasons...none where the right reason...HP gains.

Will the Camry / RAV4 Engine Cover fit the tC2 with a TRD Strut Bar?
