Over at the dealership I bought my 2012 tC at, I took a quick look at their Parts department and they had an engine cover on display with a Scion logo on it.

I'm not sure whether it was for the 1st gen or the 2nd gen tC. All it had was a Scion logo and 16 Valve VVT-I printed on it. But Toyota do in fact make engine covers specifically for our tCs.

It looked made of cheap plastic though, so I wasn't interested.

^it is made for Gen1. i think. because at the Dealer where I bought my tC2, there is a Engine Cover on display on their parts department as well, with Scion logo and 16 Valved VVT-I, even before the tC2 is released.
We bought 2 vehicles there and been there a lot of times, because I've been bringing the vehicles for their maintenance. and the plastic that is used is the same as all Toyota engine covers.

It fits with the bar on but the cover has to go on first.

I got a hold of someone with the cover & the bar on ... It does indeed fit but its in constant contact with the bar so it rubs red paint onto the cover from the damn engine flopping around ... So I'm just gonna sell my cover & paint my head cover instead ...

Very minimal paint has rubbed on. If it bothers you that much, a small washer in the struts will fix the rubbing. Engine will flop around less with a stiff motor mount.

Actually sounds like a good idea ... If I don't sell it by New years I'll do just that
