i want a cold air intake with short ram capability because i live in the snow belt of ohio. once winter hits i get all the cold air i want lol. but in all honesty if the aem can be short ram as well id rather buy it than the trd but those are the only 2 id consider buying since they seem like the only 2 intakes that wont cause cel problems later on down the road. im going to hold off on buying parts for winter though since my cars about to be on steelies looking like butthole for the next 5 months

I don't get what all the fuss over short ram capability is all about. If it's about water, then you don't need to worry. The nose of the car will need to be submerged in water before there's any chance of an issue.

I've driven through countless heavy rain days (including hurricane Irene) with no hints of a problem.

yup, its tucked up pretty high on the AEM, plus those plastic under body pieces cover most of it. And they make those little hydro sock deals that slip over the filter to help block out water splashes

I'll check with Ken and see if they have any info on changing it to a short ram, if they haven't tried it, when I get some spare time, ill see if I can convert mine.

Sorry about that, no short ram, it was electronically tuned for cold air only.
