I just installed Weapon-R headers with CEL eliminator and Megan racing drift spec catback exhaust system the car runs just fine and I drove it around a day since installation but today my CEL and traction control off light came on and I can't get them to go off simply restarted the car and the traction control won't turn back on anyone ran into this?

 

Get Autozone to read the CEL code. 95% Chance that it's from the Headers

 

Should've gone with the green header instead. I've been avoiding weaponr for the reason I don't feel comfortable installing something that causes a cel and requires a cel eliminator to be installed to fix their issue. It sounds like you now don't have a cat so thats probably why you can't get the lights to go off. Just my thoughts, I'm not a mechanic so it's just a shot in the dark. Alot of things can cause both lights to come on at the same time. You need to to go autozone and have your codes read for more details.

People have installed the Weapon-R headers with CEL eliminator and have had no problems.

Have you tried resetting the ecu? Unplug the battery, wait a few mins and drive it around for awhile to reset it and see it comes back. This is important to do.

 

I'm 99.9% I caused it myself I put the CEL elim on the primary sensor on the header itself (before the cat woulda been) so I just removed my s-pipe put the eliminator on the secondary sensor (after cat) and cleared out my ECU so I guess ill know here in a few days what happens I appreciate all the free back

 

you are supposed to install it on the s-pipe not the header.

Yeah I thought about it and realized lol stupid mistake on my part hopefully that fixes it

 

i have a takeda intake and this exact same thing happened about a week ago trac off light came on and check engine light too had the code scanned and it wasnt anything related to traction control then one day i spun tires leaving somewhere and the light just said hey i liked that and went off

it takes 50 miles for your car to realize somthings different.

Traction control also quit working earlier weird but I put the sensor in the s-pipe where it belonged 30 miles so far no light 20 more to go and we will see if I need to visit stealership

 

I wouldn't go the stealership even if the light did go on. Just talk to us. And get that code read with the time you save from not going to the dealership.

 

The dealership won't do anything because you have aftermarket parts that are causing the problem

 

All covered under warranty According to my dealer and Toyota tech they cover certain brands in only gonna take it there last resort I'd much rather fix it myself

 

this is not correct i hadnt gone 50 miles between the time the light came on to when it went off

 

it takes anywhere from 20-50 to recalibrate the tables

 

Well going on 70 miles no issues since I reset ECU and loved eliminator to the s pipe trying not to get to excited possibly have it fixed though
