Question 2015 Scion Tc - Grinding Gear 1st to 2nd

Hi,

Recently purchased a 2015 Scion Tc. Been having issues with the transmission input bearing & issues to shift from 1st to 2nd. I had to replace the transmission due to this issue so I ordered a used transmission with less then 150k and this transmision also grinds from 1st to 2nd.

Is this a know issue with Scion Tc? The only way the transmission does not grind is if I rev it at around 4000rpm and slowly give the transmission to go in 2nd which at that point the rpm is between 1500-2000

I don't drive the car hard just this seems like it does not shift normally.

Any input would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention in my last thread that I also added a brand new Exedy Clutch kit to make sure I did not have more issue but seems like it did not fix this grinding issue from 1st to 2nd.

If it's done it with 2 transmissions and you're sure the new one is the one that got installed I'd inspect the motor mounts. That's an odd issue to have on 2. This motor is able to move a ton with the stock mounts. I filled the front mount with urethane since there are no aftermarket options available anymore and it made it much smoother to drive.

150k is a lot on a transmission with known issues though, hopefully that one also just doesn't have the same issues.

Just curious to know how would this fix a grinding transmission?

Reducing engine movement helps keep things where they are. If things have excessive play, lots of unwanted noises can happen. Would have to see the car to investigate more, just a good thing to check.
