Default Engine Ticking noise

Okay so I just installed my Descendant CAI today. Reset the ecu the way you're supposed to. I drove to work and babied it almost the whole way. After exiting I was forced to accelerate a bit hard due to someone speeding and almost rear ended me. I parked at work and could hear ticking. Now I will admit that I could be just paranoid and that the ticking was always there. Or is there really an issue? Any input from those with CAI would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

the ticking is always there.. even with the stock intake... it's just more noticeable with an aftermarket one.

it's for warm idle control... bunch of techie stuff.. but don't worry.. it's normal.

Ha hah. Dang it! I just got done re-installing the factory air box. I wish I read this earlier. Oh well, at least I know what I'll be doing again tomorrow morning after a 12 hour shift. SquallLheart is right. It is there with factory box. I figured it was valve lifter noise or cam follower or something. Well, you live and learn. I was just basing it off of the Tc1 didn't have the noise but then again our Tc2 is a different beast.

Hey SqullLheart, is that your number in red? 408 number? I'm originally from the 408. Then I decided to get burnt here in AZ. I almost regret moving completely but if I didn't leave Nor Cal, I would be stuck in a Honda/Acura. Nothing wrong with Hondas and Acuras. It's just that the Scion community is more close knit. Believe me. I know, I've been in the scene since the mid 90's. LOL I'm getting old. Oh yeah, I had my first exhaust system welded up at Precision Muffler and his dad replaced my tranny in in the same car, my 91 si hatch.
