Default K&N Intake or AEM CAI?

Help me out plz

I want an intake, everyone talks about Injen CAI, but I am leaning more towards these two.

Which one do you guys think is better?

I know K&N makes some really good stuff, plus i believe its almost like the trd except better, and not sure, but i think the intake tube runs and the way down to where a CAI would be, but the Filter is alllll the way at the top.

The AEM have some good intakes, and i like the color, but i've seen some ppl complain of some issues.

What do you guys think?

I can get the K&N for 236$ and the AEM for 223$

aem makes k&n, or vice versa.. either are great products. k&n is a short ram while the aem is true Cold air intake. I got an aem for 200 used so I went that route..

from the looks of it, it does not have a snorkel, but I think you could just buy a silicone hose to route into the fender and a filter that will accommodate the silicone hose..

The factory intake pretty much has a snorkel. The K & N has an air dam that buts up to the snorkel is, so essentially, it has a snorkel. I have had both, I like the K&N Better. Its a little louder, and feels like the same if not more power. good luck!

I was forced to ditch my AEM on my 2013.
And my Ingen brand intake runs great! Very nice glossy black to match the car.

That little electronic box that you attach to the MAP sensor kept messing up because supposedly it was not compatible with my 2013. They even sent me a new electronic piece and two months later my car started stalling and having erratic idle again. So I gave up because the second I mention 2013 tC they say "well it has not been tested on a 2013 test car yet and its listed on our website as 2011-2012". They say the 2013 tC may have had the fuel maps changed and that is causing the problem.
Perhaps for the 2011 and 2012 they are fine.
Hell I have my AEM Intake sitting in my garage. I didn't have time to prep it for sale on Craigslist yet. It is still under warranty if you wish to buy it, I have receipts. It works fine and all..just not on my car.

It wasn't horrible, I just couldn't take full advantage of the AEM Unit. It just sucked I had to go to my Stock intake, then order a new Intake, then install that. I guess I like my Ingen better because its all analog and i know its not intentionally sending false signals to my ECU.
Also at the end of the day they are both wide pipe with a filter on the tip. They were both fun when it comes to drivability. I got 10% off cause I mentioned ScionLife on the phone.
I am in Central Texas and will let it go for cheap. Not sure what current MSRP is.

I installed my AEM on my 2011 Tc about 3 weeks ago and so far it has been great. The install was pretty easy. Sounds and feels good. I got mine online for $230 shipped out of San Diego, CA. Gunmetal looks good with the cement paint which is what I have.

I purchased mine here:

Looks like they increased the price some. I just got mine before Christmas so maybe I caught a sale.

Thanks guys! btw i think the K&n intake is considered a Cold air Intake bcuz it has the filter closed from the hot air, and the tube that runs down to where "cooler" air would be.
