So bottom line is My 08 Tc manual transmission shifts fine but it grinds when I go from 2dn to third gear. I'm planning to take it in for warranty for the 5 year/60,000 warranty.

Does this sound like a tranny issue (i have no other issues with any of the other gears as theY shift fine when I do, including reverse with no funny grindidng or noises. Im kinda freaked out that the stealership will somehow try to srew me>>>>are they supposed to check this free of charge? What is covered on the powertrain warranty? THANKS

 

It will be covered for free and don't let them try saying you owe money some how. You are entitled to that warranty and everything should be taken care of free of charge. Btw your in the 2g section and you have a 1g. Either way good luck!

 

it sounds like the syncro gear for 3rd gear wore out...that is a waranty item...to me anyway.
