im scared to get a cat back now because i dont want that annoying rasp, with the axleback it sounds really good, and i dont wanna ruin it and even when flooring the rasp really isnt all that bad

 

did your check engine light ever come on?

 

it sure did i havent put the cel eliminator on yet cuz i didnt get it in the mail..it should be here tomorrow

 

@jesse- with did your CEL come on? do you have the CEL illiminator?

@brichard- so your saying your CEL came on with both the short ram and cold air. without the CEL illiminator?

 

yea at least for me it did...it went off when i put the cold air on but it came back

 

ok. just wondering because. i want this but heard the cel came on and i love my intake. once you get the illiminator put in. lmk

 

No cel yes I have cel eliminator the directions tell you to install it facing the front of the car....we cannot do this I had to do it towards the back works prefect. Gotta get rid of the rasp!

For those that have the header installed. Did you install it yourself? If so. How easy was it. And did you have an exhaust leak?

 

i did mine myself, as long you have a good lift its one two three took me about an hour and half! And im not sure how to tell if theres an exhaust leak, how would one know!

 

sweet. well mine im doing in my garage on jack stands lol. exhaust leak.. if you have air flow coming from where the header and the downpipe connect. if its really bad youll be able to hear it while driving.

 

I installed my exhaust with the help of a couple buddies. After we put the pieces together and initially tightened everything, I cranked the car while it was still on jacks and revved a few times while they were under the car. They sprayed each connection with soapy water and looked for disturbances, then re-tightened accordingly. Same will apply to a header install.

 

Not good at all. In fact, quite bad.

 

Nope nothing from what i know just a rasp when u put the pedal and hit about 5000rpm. but normal driving it sounds amazing and with the hks axleback it sounds pretty crisp. I will be going catback most likely descendant!

 

im gonna get it with my straight pipe and let u guys know how it works out i will stilll have plenty of back pressure because of the extra cat in the mid pipe ( car is from california)
