Oil Pressure spike..
So I finally put some gauges in my tC2. I now have oil pressure, oil temp and coolant temp. But I noticed that my oil pressure is not very linear. It’s linear up to 2,250 rpms. At which it’s 30ish psi. Then will shoot up to 60-70psi at 2,750 rpms and somewhat Plateau but climb slowly.
I do have the pressure and temp gauge running off a tee where the stock oil pressure switch is. Not sure if that could be the issue. I just didn’t want to take the time to go under the car and look for the oil sending unit port. But I might have to now.
Also unsure of how to post my video of this happening.

You mentioned putting a tee where your oil pressure sending unit sw was, and then you were gunna look for an oil sending port? Thought you were already plugged in there.
As Danno mentioned, your description of the oil pressure characteristics sound OK to me also. Actually, 60-70 (and more) sounds high depending on your bearing clearances, and 30lbs below 2K is good too. We're assuming you have mechanical gauges, and not electric.
I use-ta own an Intrepid, (V6) with high mileage. It didn't have any gauges, just idiot lights. At idle the oil pressure light would flicker, but then go away once it was was revved. The PO said it did that since it was young. So I put a cheap mechanical gauge to see what the PSI actually was. It would only idle at 5 lbs, but would immediately climb to 30-40 when driving. We drove it that way for years, and never had any issues. Took it to the bone yard, when the car was finally worn out. Still ran tho. Just a little food for thought.
